Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

Welcome back to Warrawong High School! It is with great pleasure that I extend a warm welcome to all our returning students and families, as well as those who are joining us for the first time. As we embark on a new academic year, I am filled with excitement and anticipation for the incredible journey ahead as your children are encouraged and supported in their learning journey by our committed staff.

At Warrawong High School, we take pride in providing a diverse range of opportunities to our students, aiming to enrich their educational experience and prepare them for success in all aspects of life. I am delighted to highlight some of the exciting programs and partnerships that await our students this year.

First and foremost, we are privileged to have established partnerships with the Coomaditchie United Aboriginal Corporation Community Centre, fostering meaningful connections with our First Nations community. Through these partnerships, our students have the opportunity to engage in cultural exchanges, learn from elders, and gain a deeper understanding of Aboriginal history, culture, and traditions.

Furthermore, our collaboration with the Illawarra Academy of STEM Excellence (IASE) opens doors to innovative learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Through hands-on projects, competitions, and mentorship opportunities, students can explore their interests and excel in STEM fields and are privileged to be exposed to a range of factstic opportunities with local industry.

For those passionate about soccer, our partnership with the Real Madrid Foundation Soccer Program offers world-class coaching and training experiences, nurturing both skill development and sportsmanship among our students. The Real Madrid Foundation subscribes to nine key values that promote civics and citizenship which are embedded and taught through the sporting program.

Moreover, our Garden & Permaculture Program provides students with the chance to connect with nature, learn sustainable practices, and cultivate a deeper appreciation for the environment. Through this program, students not only develop gardening skills but also gain valuable insights into the importance of ecological stewardship.

Additionally, we are proud to offer experiences with Green Connect Social Enterprise, where students can engage in meaningful work that contributes to social and environmental sustainability. Through hands-on projects and internships, students can make a positive impact on their community while developing valuable skills and insights into social entrepreneurship.

As we navigate the year ahead, I encourage all students to take advantage of these incredible opportunities and embrace the diverse experiences that Warrawong High School has to offer. Together, let us embark on a journey of growth, discovery, and achievement.

Once again, welcome to Warrawong High School. Let's make this year one of growth, achievement, and success!

Warm regards,

Andrew Stephens
